What?!  Willow plays Halo?  Nope, I sure don’t, but Skunkie and Polyvector do!  Yesterday when I went to check the mail, there in our lovely little box was Skunkie and Polvector’s Halo 3 game, snuggly wrapped in cardboard.  This was the only thing with any value to it in the mail that day.  I of course grabbed it and ran back to the apartment and woke up the household (yes, Poly and Skunkie were still sleeping even though it was nearly 4 in the afternoon).

I figured they would want to know right away that the game had come, since it was a bit slow in getting here.  The thing is, they had pre-ordered Halo 3 from Amazon.com, because our Target and Walmart tend to be a bit shady on their availability of games, but ‘lo and behold, come the release of Halo 3, both stores have plenty in stock and our copy from Amazon had yet to arrive.  So it was a happy morning/afternoon/evening (depending on when you wake up). I have a few poems here after doing some writing exercises. They haven’t been revised or anything…in fact I only just finished writing them. Since their structure isn’t anything complicated, I am just going to post them directly here on Lit Bit. Now aren’t all you Lit Bit readers the lucky ducks, dA doesn’t get these ones. Critiques are always appreciated, but never mandatory ;) . I honestly don’t know how I feel about these. I don’t feel great about them, but I’ve been feeling compelled to write and struggling to find topics to write about. I also believe in posting the good with the bad (not the ridiculously horrible though), because there is always potential to receive outside perspectives on pieces and I know I’m only human and bound to have “off” days. Anyway, enough rambling from my tired brain, here are the few poems I have for you this evening: (more…)

I had a dream this morning, well it was more like a nightmare.  I found myself piling into a car behind the wheel and my dad and, I think, a grandpa of mine (though I can’t really remember anymore).  We were supposed to follow my aunt Debbie and my cousin Heather in their cars.  Well they bolt off, driving high speeds and of course there I am trying to keep up.

I’m right behind them in the right lane of a badly lit street, then all of a sudden they veer off to the right and catch this side road that I didn’t even see until they were on it.  All this time I am still speeding like crazy, trying to figure out how to get to them.  Somehow I end up in the left lane and I miss another entrance that would have connected to the road that my aunt and cousin were on. Just to remind everyone, Banned Book Week begins this Saturday and goes until next Saturday.  I really need to find out what is going to be happening around town here, so I can check it out.

Also, October 15th is Blog Action Day, so remember to post on your blog about the environment and sign up your blog here so that they get an idea of who is participating.  I’ve already got a book that I am reading in order to do a review for that day.

Last night Skunkie, Polyvector, and I went to see the third installment of the Resident Evil movies.  Now I’m not a huge gamer and the few games I do play, I happen to suck at.  My roommies on the other hand are huge gamers (at least in my eyes since I don’t personally know anyone that games more than they do).

The first time I ever saw one of the Resident Evil video games was watching Polyvector play RE4 after it came out.  To be honest, it scared the shit out of me and I think I screamed as much watching Poly play as I would had the game actually been a reality.  I’m a huge sissy when it comes to these kind of games.  I tried playing Gears of War once with Skunkie and the result was me screaming at dead bodies that couldn’t hurt me in the game (they were just part of the scenery) and spinning recklessly and accidentally shooting Skunkie.  Needless to say I have avoided these types of games (heck even the Legend of Zelda makes me scream sometimes when I play) and anything else that is associated with them.  (more…)
